Welcome Back

Welcome to another semester of Slow Food UW! If you’ve just discovered us and would like to learn more about the organization, check out our About page here and our current projects in the tab above. If you are a returning Slow Foodie, welcome back!

We’ve made some exciting changes for the new year, including our new Dormant Chef program and Cook-to-Connect workshop series. A lot of new interns will be joining the Slow Food family to help us run these and other projects like FDN, Cafe and Outreach. We will be updating you with more information as we make some changes to the website in the coming weeks, but for now, the announcements you’ve all been waiting for:

Family Dinner Night is back! Join us on Monday @6:30pm in the basement of the Crossing, 1127 University Avenue, for a delicious meal prepared by some of our veteran FDN interns. The menu is as follows:

Winter citrus salad with ginger-yogurt sauce

Meat and seasonal veggie frittata with home-fried Potatoes

Chocolate chip walnut muffins

Seating is limited, so be sure to sign up here to reserve your seat. The cost is $5 (please bring cash to pay at the door).

Later in the week, we’ll reopen the doors of the Slow Food Cafe (also in the basement of the Crossing). Stop in anytime  on Wednesday between 11:30 and 2 for a locally sourced, affordable lunch. Meals typically cost between $5 and $8. For this ‘a la carte’ meal, cash and credit card are accepted. This week’s menu is as follows:
